Please read below to note the updates as of today. Hopefully this new phase lasts for a very limited period.
SATURDAY VIGIL MASSES: 4PM & 5PM (20 PEOPLE MAXIMUM FOR EACH MASS) SUNDAY MASSES: 10AM; 11AM; 12 NOON & 5PM (20 PEOPLE...)
ALL DEVOTIONAL GROUPS SUSPENDED. SACRAMENTS CAN BE ARRANGED WITH FR AMBROSE.
Our volunteers have been doing a great job since the Churches were allowed to open again. However, we welcome anybody - young or old - who would like to join our fabulous team.
When you come to church please wear a face mask and keep your face covered during the visit. Hand sanitising is also required. During opening hours, volunteers will show you where to sit and point out entrance and exits
The maximum number of people permitted for Funeral Masses and Baptisms remain at 20. Wedding Masses can admit only 15 people.
Confessions are held either in the Sacristy - we have 2 Sacristies - or in the Adoration Chapel. The easiest way to have this Sacrament is to request for it before any of the Masses (you will need to turn up before the rest of the people attending Mass) or you sent a text message to or call Fr Ambrose @ 07549260379 to arrange an appropriate time.
As had been thought, the First Minister today announced that all of the Archdiocese, with the exception of those parts in Argyll & Bute (Cardross, Helensburgh, and Roseneath/Arrochar), will move into Level 4 of the restrictions from 6pm on Friday. It is said that this will be for a period of 3 weeks.
The key points of level 4 are to be found at https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-protection-levels/pages/protection-level-4/
The main things for parishes are as follows:
There may be other issues that arise, and I will try and update you if they do, but these are the main ones to bear in mind. As at present, the maximum numbers set out above do not include the priest or “staff” but the numbers of staff needed will be less given the attendance is less. The First Minister has said that the travel restrictions will be given legal effect but the details have not yet been published.
With best wishes,
Canon Paul Gargaro
